Terms of Use

Effective 20 October 2026

These terms apply to the Offshoot beta: the Mac app, the iPhone and iPad app, this website, and the optional account, relay and Linear integration (together, “Offshoot”). Offshoot is provided by Arif Dogan, Falkenberger Str. 146, 13088 Berlin, Germany (“we”, “us”). By using Offshoot you agree to these terms.

1. A beta, free of charge

Offshoot is in beta. It is pre-release software: features change, things break, and parts of it may be interrupted, changed or discontinued at any time. During the beta, Offshoot is provided free of charge. If that ever changes, we will say so before anything is charged, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to install and use the Offshoot apps to develop software, including commercially. You may not sell, rent or redistribute the apps, or reverse engineer them except where the law allows it (for example § 69e of the German Copyright Act). Offshoot, its design and its brand remain ours.

3. You are responsible for your repositories and your agents

Offshoot runs coding agents on your Mac, with your accounts, in your repositories. That means:

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Offshoot, and in particular the account, relay or Linear integration, to:

5. Your account

The account is optional. Use an email address you control and keep your devices secure; you are responsible for what happens with your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or endangers Offshoot or other users; where reasonable, we will tell you first.

6. Availability

The relay, the account service and the Linear integration are provided as they are, without any guaranteed availability. The Mac app keeps working on your Mac without them.

7. Warranty and liability

Because Offshoot is provided free of charge, the statutory rules for gifts apply to defects (§§ 523, 524 of the German Civil Code): we are liable for defects only if we fraudulently conceal them.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee. Beyond that, liability for slight negligence is excluded as far as the law permits.

For lost data, we are liable only for the effort it would have taken to restore it from backups you should reasonably have kept.

8. The iPhone and iPad app

The iPhone and iPad app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). Apple is not responsible for the app or its support; questions go to us.

9. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Offshoot changes. The version on this page, with its effective date, applies. If you do not agree with a change, stop using Offshoot and delete your account.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. If you are a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is Berlin.

If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: hello@offshoot.cloud. Help with the apps: support@offshoot.cloud. Our full contact details are in the Impressum.
